Producers: connection to the power grid

The connection to the electricity distribution grid officially begins when you submit a connection to the power grid request to us, the distribution operator. Download the request form here and complete it. Once completed, you can submit the request online by creating an account on our website.

Once we receive your request and the necessary documents, we will evaluate them and provide a response within a maximum of ten working days.

If the documentation you submitted is correct and complete, we will confirm this and send you an invoice for the issuance of the technical grid connection approval (ATR). Information about costs can be found here. Follow the payment instructions on the invoice.

If the submitted documents are incorrect or incomplete, we will send you a response indicating the necessary modifications or additions.

We determine the technical connection to the power grid solution either by preparing a solution sheet or by conducting a solution study if the connection of the production installation requires a more detailed analysis. If the solution is determined through a solution study, you can choose a certified designer to prepare the solution study and participate in the discussions within the approval committee. If multiple solutions are approved following the study, you will be able to select the one that best suits your needs. The solution will be included in the ATR.

According to the amendment of the Connection Regulation on 02.08.2024, for the issuance of an ATR for the connection of a new production/consumption and production site (including those equipped with storage facilities) to the public interest electricity network, or for the approval of a power increase leading to a total approved evacuation power of more than 1 MW at the respective site, the grid operator requires the user to provide a financial guarantee in its favor. The value of the guarantee represents 5% of the connection fee, and the user is required to provide the financial guarantee before the ATR is issued.

Once you receive the ATR, download the request form for the conclusion of the connection and design/execution contract here, complete it, and send it to us through your online account. The actual design and execution works will begin only after you decide who will carry them out – either us or an ANRE-certified company – and after signing the connection contract. We will evaluate the request and provide the proposed connection to the power grid contract within a maximum of five working days, provided the information you submitted is correct and complete.

You will sign the connection to the power grid contract you receive from us.

You will pay the connection costs either to the distributor or to the ANRE-certified company, depending on your choice when concluding the connection to the power grid contract. The connection costs are specified and detailed in the connection contract.

The design and execution of the connection works will be carried out by the distributor or the ANRE-certified company you have selected. Additional documents/permits may be required for the works, which the project executor will obtain. These documents will be submitted to us through your online account. Once all approvals are obtained, the execution works will begin.

A certified ANRE company of your choice will prepare the usage installation file, which includes several required documents for continuing the connection to the power grid process. See additional information about the documents in the utilization file here. You will negotiate the cost of this file directly with the selected company. Once completed, the file must be sent to us – either through your online account, by email (to the address indicated in the ATR), or uploaded here.

We will inspect the executed works, and if everything is in order, we will commission the connection to the power grid installation.

After commissioning the connection to the power grid installation, it will be energized for a trial period to ensure everything functions optimally. The trial period can last up to two years. Before starting the trials, you will need to sign a temporary supply contract with your chosen supplier.

Within a maximum of three days after completing the previous step, we will issue the connection to the power grid certificate, a document certifying the addition of a new production site to the grid.

To inject the electricity produced into our power grid, you will sign an indefinite-term contract with an electricity supplier. You will also pay electricity consumption bills to this supplier.
