Project: “Modernization of distribution networks in the city of Geoagiu, Geoagiu Băi, and the localities of Aurel Vlaicu, Bozeș, Cigmău, Homorod, Mermezeu-Văleni, Renghet, Poienari, and Văleni”
Total value, including the financing percentage through the Modernization Fund:
The total value of the project is 57,790,907.70 RON, VAT included.
The amount covered by the Modernization Fund is 80% of eligible expenses, namely 36,936,171.45 RON.
The amount covered by the beneficiary (REB) is 20,854,736.25 RON, VAT included.
Location:
The investment objective is located within the built-up area of Geoagiu, on land belonging to the public or private domain.
Main project activities
The investment project consists of the following components:
Component C1:
Modernization of medium voltage (MV) lines, substations connections, and loops between substations.
Component C2:
Modernization of electrical installations in substations, including equipment upgrades and expansion of distribution capacities. Conversion of existing substations into fully equipped PTABs. Integration of new PTABs into the low voltage distribution network. The associated medium and low voltage networks will be reconfigured.
Component C3:
Modernization of transformer substations, including the installation of remote control equipment and integration into SCADA/ADMS.
Component C4:
Securing operations and access to electrical installations and installation of anti-theft systems at all transformer substations within the project scope – 15 substations.
Component C5:
Modernization of the low voltage (LV) network in UAT Geoagiu, replacement of uninsulated conductors with twisted insulated conductors, and replacement of deteriorated poles. Reconfiguration of low voltage networks associated with newly designed PTABs. Modernization of service connections for 1,701 consumers in UAT Geoagiu.
Component C6:
Reconstruction of distribution columns for 1,701 low voltage consumers.
Project objectives aligned with the goals of the Modernization Fund:
- modernization of medium voltage (MV) distribution networks on the following lines: LEA 20kV Orăștie Balomir, Aurel Vlaicu branch, Homorod branch, LEA 20kV Orăștie Balomir, Curechi branch, LEA 20 Orăștie FNC, Renghet branch, LEA 20kV Orăștie FNC, and LEA 20kV IMO Zăvoi, Cigmău branch;
- modernization of low voltage (LV) distribution networks, approximately 86.25 km within UAT Geoagiu, and existing service connections;
- expansion (reconfiguration) of MV and LV distribution networks.
These objectives contribute to improving the SAIDI indicators in the project area by approximately 3% (estimated) for medium voltage (20kV) and approximately 50% (estimated) for low voltage (0.4kV), and the SAIFI indicator in the project area by approximately 6%. Additionally, the project objectives contribute to a reduction in CPT by approximately 34.4% (estimated) compared to the pre-modernization period.
