Bocșa, Râmna, and Fârliug, Caraș-Severin county
Project: “Modernization works on the 20 kV Avicola Berzovia overhead line by partially converting it to an underground cable, transforming overhead substations into PTABs, and modernizing the low voltage network in the localities of Duleu, Remetea-Pogănici, Valea Mare, and Bocșa, Binișului Street.”
Total value, including the financing percentage through the Modernization Fund:
The total value of the project is 87,942,576.91 RON, VAT included.
The amount covered by the Modernization Fund is 80% of the eligible expenses, namely 57,739,311.13 RON.
The amount covered by the beneficiary (REB) is 30,203,265.78 RON, VAT included.
Location
The investment works are located within the administrative territories of Bocșa, Râmna, and Fârliug, on land belonging to the public or private domain, in the northwest area of Caraș-Severin county.
Main project activities
The investment project consists of the following components:
Component C1:
Demolition of 33.4 km of the Avicola Berzovia overhead power line.
Component C2:
Modernization of overhead and underground medium voltage lines on Avicola Berzovia. Modernization of low voltage lines and power connections in the localities of Duleu, Remetea-Pogănici, Valea Mare, and Binișului Street in Bocșa.
Component C3:
Modernization of electrical installations in substations, including equipment upgrades and expansion of distribution capacities. Conversion of some substations into fully equipped PTABs. Integration of the new PTABs into the low voltage distribution network. The associated medium and low voltage networks will be reconfigured.
Component C4:
Modernization of substations, including the installation of remote control equipment and integration into SCADA/ADMS. Expansion and modernization of the communication network and transition to more secure fiber optic communication. Extension of low voltage network monitoring to ensure power quality for consumers.
Component C5:
Securing operations and access to electrical installations, as well as the installation of anti-theft systems in all PTABs within the project scope – 20 substations.
Component C6:
Expansion of the neutral treatment group at the Bocșa substation.
Project objectives aligned with the goals of the Modernization Fund:
- modernization and reconfiguration of the medium voltage distribution network, specifically the Avicola Berzovia line;
- increase in distribution capacity for the modernized medium voltage network by upgrading the conductor from 50 mm² to 120 mm² on the overhead network and supplementing with 185 mm² on the new underground network;
- modernization of substations along the line by upgrading electrical installations for both medium voltage and low voltage and converting some existing overhead substations into compact substations;
- implementation of video surveillance at substations;
- implementation of measures for digitalization and increased data transmission capacity from intelligent network elements to the remote control system by transitioning to fiber optic communication adjacent to the medium voltage network and integrating transformer substations into SCADA/ADMS;
- demolition of the Avicola Berzovia overhead power line, approximately 33.4 km in length, including 395 poles;
- modernization of overhead medium voltage lines;
- modernization of underground medium voltage lines;
- modernization of 21 substations;
- modernization of low voltage overhead lines and service connections in Duleu, Remetea-Pogănici, Valea Mare, and Binișului Street in Bocșa;
- installation of remote control equipment for integration into SCADA, telemetering, and fiber optic communication;
- expansion of the neutral treatment group at the 110/20/6 kV Bocșa substation.
These objectives contribute to improving the SAIDI index in the project area by approximately 5% (estimated) and the SAIFI index in the project area by 5% (estimated). Additionally, the project objectives contribute to a reduction in CPT by approximately 53% compared to the pre-modernization period.
