Project: “Increasing the security of electricity supply for consumers in the Trei Ape recreational area by looping the 20 kV Văliug overhead power line (LEA) from the Mociur power station with the 20 kV Slatina Timiș overhead power line from the Balta Sărată power station.”
Total value, reflecting the percentage of funding through the Modernization Fund:
The total project value is 57,666,028.14 RON, VAT included.
The maximum amount covered by the Modernization Fund is 80% of eligible expenses, amounting to 37,805,230.21 RON.
The amount covered by the beneficiary (REB) is 19,860,797.93 RON, VAT included.
Location:
The proposed investment will be located in Caraș-Severin county.
The project’s area of application includes:
- The 110/20/6 kV Mociur power station, located in Reșița.
- The 110/20/6 kV Balta Sărată power station, located in Caransebeș.
- The Timiș Trei Ape power station, which, through its 11 substations, serves a total of 622 low-voltage clients in the Brebu Nou, Gărâna, and Trei Ape lake recreational areas.
Main project activities
The investment project consists of the following components:
Component C1:
Modernization of medium voltage (MV) lines, including the looping of the 20 kV Slatina Timiș overhead power line with the Brebu Nou-Gărâna and 20 kV Văliug overhead power lines, the establishment of a new substation (PT, 20 kV-6 kV), as well as the decommissioning of 7.8 km of the Brebu Nou-Gărâna overhead power line and the restoration of the surrounding environment.
Component C2:
Modernization of electrical installations in substations, including upgrading equipment and expanding distribution capacities. Transforming some existing substations into fully equipped PTABs (new). Integrating the new PTABs into the low-voltage (LV) distribution network. The associated MV and LV networks will be reconfigured.
Component C3:
Modernization of substations, including the installation of remote control equipment and integration into SCADA/ADMS. Expansion and modernization of the communication network and transition to more secure fiber optic communications. Expansion of LV network monitoring for improved power quality delivered to consumers.
Component C4:
Securing operations and access to electrical installations and installing anti-intrusion systems (at all PTABs within the project area – 9 substations).
Through the implementation of the project “Increasing the security of electricity supply for consumers in the Trei Ape recreational area by looping the 20 kV Văliug overhead power line from the Mociur power station with the 20 kV Slatina Timiș overhead power line from the Balta Sărată power station,” investments will be made in energy infrastructure to reduce network losses and ensure the safe and continuous provision of electricity distribution services.
Project objectives aligned with those of the Modernization Fund:
- Modernization of medium voltage (MV) distribution networks.
- Establishment of a 20 kV-6 kV substation.
- Modernization of electrical installations in substations, including upgrading equipment and expanding distribution capacities.
- Modernization of substations by installing remote control equipment, integrating them into SCADA/ADMS, modernizing the communication network, transitioning to more secure fiber optic communications, and enhancing LV network monitoring with quality analyzers.
- Development of technical spaces and securing operations and access to electrical installations, including renovations to buildings and the installation of anti-intrusion systems.
These objectives contribute to improving the SAIDI indicators in the project area, reducing them by 5%, 10%, and 20%, respectively. Thus, an estimated reduction of approximately 165 minutes/client/year is projected compared to the pre-modernization period for the Brebu Nou-Gărâna customer group. Additionally, the project objectives contribute to reducing energy losses (CPT) by approximately 13 MWh/year compared to the pre-modernization period.
