Timișoara, November 24th 2023 – Rețele Electrice Banat (part of the PPC group, previously named E-Distribuție Banat) is the new name of the company that manages the electricity distribution networks in the counties of Arad, Caraș-Severin, Hunedoara and Timiș.
At the same time, E-Distribuție Muntenia was renamed Rețele Electrice Muntenia and E-Distribuție Dobrogea was renamed Rețele Electrice Dobrogea. The name changes of the distribution operators come after PPC recently completed the acquisition of Enel’s operations in Romania.
From the beginning of the activity in the country until 2022, E-Distribuție Banat has made investments of over two billion lei in the counties where it operates. The latest project of E-Distribuție Banat, with significant benefits for the local community in Timișoara, is the new Covaci primary substation, near Timișoara. The investment has a total value of about 50 million lei, the equivalent of 10 million euros, including the primary substation and the related medium voltage network. They will serve the industrial area, such as Traian Vuia International Airport, commercial centers, production halls, logistics centers etc.
