Timi\u0219oara <\/strong>\u2013 Re\u021bele Electrice Banat company (part of PPC Group in Romania, previously called E-Distribu\u021bie Banat) has completed the works for the modernization of the Venus primary substation in Timi\u0219oara, a project worth 14 million lei, financed from own funds.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • The installed power of the transformer station doubled to 50 Mega Volt Amper (MVA)<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Venus primary substation serves over 22.000 customers from the South-Eastern part of Timi\u0219oara, Mo\u0219ni\u021ba and adjacent localities<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Following the works, the installed power of the primary substation was doubled from 1\u00d725 MVA to 2x 25 MVA by adding a new transformer, produced in Romania. By amplifying the transformer station, the power needed to connect new users, in a continuously developing area, and an increased degree of safety in the electricity supply are ensured. The new transformers are built with advanced technology to reduce the own technological consumption in the distribution network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    From this primary substation are supplied the customers of the south-eastern area of Timi\u0219oara municipality, Mo\u0219ni\u021ba locality and surrounding localities. Among these are about 20 industrial customers and institutions including hospitals, public transport units and other public utilities activities, as well as over 22.400 household customers and small business customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Venus primary substation was put into operation in 1992, while in 2006, as part of the network digitalization strategy, it was included in the remote-control system. This system allows the implementation of advanced distribution automation and enables Re\u021bele Electrice Banat dispatchers to perform manoeuvres quickly, remote, in case of faults in the network, to resupply the affected customers in the shortest possible time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the municipality of Timi\u0219oara and in the adjacent areas, Re\u021bele Electrice Banat operates 97 high-voltage to medium-voltage transformer stations, with a total cumulative capacity of 4.163 MVA. In 2023, Re\u021bele Electrice Banat completed the construction of a new primary substation in Dumbr\u0103vi\u021ba commune, near Timi\u0219oara, for the benefit of over 5.300 customers, in a developing area. The primary substation is one of the best performing in the Romanian electricity distribution system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Re\u021bele Electrice <\/strong>companies operate networks with a total length of over 133.000 kilometers in three important areas of the country: Muntenia Sud (including Bucharest), Banat and Dobrogea, covering one third of the local distribution market, and are developing an investment program to improve service quality, network safety and performance and local implementation of PPC Group\u2019s environmental standards. The power grids operated by the three Re\u021bele Electrice companies include 287 primary substations and over 24.000 transformer substations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
